Global-to-Local Food chains: Food Sovereignty and Climate Change: Baltic Summer School of Anthropology
The VI Baltic Summer School of Anthropology (BSSA) will take place in August 25-28, 2022 in Cēsis, Latvia.
This year’s summer school theme is Global-to-Local Food chains: Food Sovereignty and Climate Change. We invite undergraduate, postgraduate and early-stage PhD students to attend seminars held by international lecturers, share their own research and participate in small-group fieldwork along the food chain with gardeners, food activists, and processors. Keynote speakers: Mikelis Grivins, PhD (Baltic Studies Centre Riga, LV), Sandra Calkins, PhD (FU Berlin, GER).
Lecturers: Bertram Turner, Daniela Ana (Halle, GER), Nicolette Makovicky (Oxford, UK), Ester Bardone (Tartu, EST), Paride Bolletin (Brno, CZ) etc.
Dates: from Thursday afternoon (25.08) until Sunday (28.08) afternoon
Location: Rucka Art Residence Center (www.rucka.lv/lv/), Cēsis, Latvia
The event will be held in English.
Participation fee: 80 EUR. Participants from the Baltics qualify for a 25% reduced fee of 60 EUR. The participation fee covers the academic program, housing in a dorm room, and two hot meals a day.
