Photo report from the international conference “Mobilizing and Weaponizing Memories of Soviet Repressions”

The international conference “Mobilizing and Weaponizing Memories of Soviet Repressions” (29–31 October 2025) is now behind us. It brought together over 100 researchers from more than 20 countries – from Japan to Alaska. The discussions were lively, inspiring, and full of important questions. On 28 October, masterclasses for young scholars from Poland and abroad were held, funded by the Warsaw Centre for Global History as part of the Excellence Initiative – Research University program. On 29 October, we jointly took part in the moving “Reading of Names” ritual organized by Memorial Poland, and the following day we attended an evening of short artistic films about Soviet repressions at the History Meeting House.
The conference was funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the Excellent Science – Support for Scientific Conferences program (KONF/SP/0014/2024/02).
We sincerely thank everyone for their presence, energy, discussions, and for co-creating this extraordinary atmosphere. 💛
